Privacy Policy — Selah: Bible Memory

Wild Boar Studios ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Selah: Bible Memory mobile application. This page explains what data the app handles and how. We designed Selah to collect as little as possible.
The Short Version
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, address, contacts, location, photos, or health data.
- We do not use any third-party advertising or tracking, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. We collect anonymous, first-party usage analytics (see below) tied only to a random on-device ID.
- You are identified only by an anonymous ID randomly generated on your device.
- Your memorized verses and review history stay on your device.
- Some optional Premium features send text you type to a third-party AI provider to generate results.
Anonymous Identifier
On first launch, the app generates a random anonymous identifier (a UUID) stored in your device's Keychain. It is not linked to your real-world identity, Apple ID, email, or any advertising identifier. We use it to associate your subscription status with your installation and to enforce fair-use limits on server features.
Purchases
If you subscribe to Selah Premium, we store your subscription status (free, monthly, or yearly) associated with your anonymous identifier. All payment processing is handled by Apple. We never receive or store your credit card number or financial account details.
Content You Create
Your memorized verses, review history, progress, and statistics are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.
AI-Powered Premium Features
Certain optional Premium features send text to our backend, which forwards it to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate a response: the messages you type in the AI Review Coach, and the prompt you type in Verse Discovery. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information into these fields. This content is processed to produce your result and handled by OpenAI under their applicable terms.
Speech Recognition
If you choose to recite verses aloud, the app uses Apple's Speech Recognition to check your recall. Where your device supports it, this is performed on-device and audio is not sent anywhere. On devices or languages without on-device support, Apple may process the audio to produce a transcript. We do not receive or store your audio.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with data brokers or advertisers.
Usage Analytics
We collect first-party, anonymous usage analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve it — for example: when the app is opened, when a memorization session is completed, which features are used (such as verse discovery or the AI coach), and subscription events (such as starting or redeeming Premium). These analytics are associated only with your anonymous identifier, are stored on our own backend (Cloudflare), and are not shared with any third-party analytics or advertising service. They do not include your name, email, contacts, location, or the content of your verses. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Tracking
Selah does not track you across apps or websites and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). We do not show ads.
Children's Privacy
Selah is a general-audience app and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not collect names, emails, or contact information, the app does not gather personal details from users of any age.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because your identifier is anonymous and stored on your device, deleting the app removes your local data. To request deletion of the limited server-side data associated with your anonymous identifier (subscription status and timestamps), contact us at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
